Recommendations

  • Expensive for small freelancers: each export receipt costs at least Rs 1,000 + GST, plus possible M-bill booking (Rs 500) and eFIRC (Rs 500).
  • Ask the branch which office handles services EDFs. No policy was published as of 4 Oct 2026.
  • Ask your branch or relationship manager how it wants the monthly EDF for services. Most banks take it at the branch or through the relationship manager; business customers may be able to use a trade portal.
  • Ask whether it accepts PAN when you don't have an IEC.
  • Take the printed EDF, the covering letter, copies of the invoices and any FIRA / e-FIRC.
  • Your bank must publish its export policy on its website (Reg. 19). Look for "export" or "FEMA" policy documents there.
