Recommendations
- Customers of Jupiter, Fi or other fintech brands on Federal Bank hold a Federal Bank account (IFSC FDRL). Federal Bank, not the app, is your AD bank for the EDF. Ask the app's support for the Federal Bank home-branch details, then ask that branch how to submit the monthly EDF.
- If your fintech app cannot take a purpose-code declaration for foreign credits, consider receiving export income in a full-service bank account where you can file EDFs at a trade desk.
- File one consolidated EDF per month, within 30 days after the end of the invoice month. For non-software services you may file on or before the date payment is received.
- When a foreign credit arrives, give a disposal instruction with the exact purpose code (P0802 software consultancy/implementation, P0807 off-site software exports, P1006 business/management consultancy, P1007 advertising, P1014 engineering, P1099 other services). Do not let it be booked as a personal/family remittance (P13xx).
- For INR credits from a PA-CB (Wise Business, Skydo, Razorpay MoneySaver, Xflow, BriskPe, etc.) keep the provider's FIRA/e-FIRC and attach it with the invoice when the bank asks for realisation evidence.
- Ask your branch or relationship manager how it wants the monthly EDF for services. Most banks take it at the branch or through the relationship manager; business customers may be able to use a trade portal.
- Ask whether it accepts PAN when you don't have an IEC.
- Take the printed EDF, the covering letter, copies of the invoices and any FIRA / e-FIRC.
- Your bank must publish its export policy on its website (Reg. 19). Look for "export" or "FEMA" policy documents there.
