How to submit
-
Bank digital channel ("applicable digital channels of the bank") verified
Policy s.5.4: EDF may be submitted 'either in physical form or through applicable digital channels of the bank'. For business clients the digital channel is presumably Straight2Bank (S2B); the policy does not name it. The bank also publishes a bulk 'EDF Upload Template' (column layout for IE name, PAN, GSTIN, invoice no., currency, amount, invoice/due date, contract no./date, supplier name, country, purpose code, SAC, third party).
Source -
Email/digital intimation of inward remittance verified
Policy s.6.7: the customer gets an email/digital-platform intimation of each inward remittance and must give 'disposal instructions' (purpose description, purpose code, beneficiary country code).
Source -
Relationship Manager verified
Policy s.5.7: for small-value (<= INR 10 lakh) closure declarations 'reach out to the Bank's Relationship Manager'.

- Form EDF in RBI format (Annexure 3 of the policy) verified
- Disposal instructions on each inward remittance: purpose description, purpose code, ultimate beneficiary country code verified

- For <= INR 10 lakh closure: declaration in prescribed format with details to reconcile IRM to EDF verified

- Timing
- Services: EDF 'before undertaking any export of services and within 30 days from end of the month in which invoice is raised or in any case on or before the date of receipt of funds' (policy s.5.4, wording as published). Bank enters EDF in EDPMS within 5 working days of a complete EDF; closure within 5 working days of a complete request. Late EDF: extension on request citing reasons.
- Charges
- Per bank's published schedule of charges (policy s.15 links https://www.sc.bank.in/deposits/schedule-of-charges/); no EDF-specific fee found
- FIRA / FIRC
- Not described in the export policy; inward remittance number / eFIRC referenced for regularisation. Charges per schedule (not verified).
- Declaring the purpose code
- Email/digital intimation on receipt; customer gives disposal instructions with purpose code + beneficiary country code (policy s.6.7). Remitter name must match buyer on invoice or third-party rules apply (SOP key features).
Recommendations
- SC retail and business customers: submit the monthly EDF through SC's digital channel or branch using SC's EDF upload template; keep the template's column order in easylancing exports.
- Reply to every SC inward-remittance intimation with purpose code, description and beneficiary country code; SC uses these as disposal instructions.
- SC's published services timing says EDF 'on or before the date of receipt of funds' as well as 30 days after month end; to be safe, file before the money arrives where possible, or ask the RM to confirm which deadline applies.
- For invoices <= INR 10 lakh, ask the RM for SC's prescribed small-value closure declaration format.
- Stripe India users settling into SC: keep SC's same-day 'payment advice' emails as realisation proof.
